The Javanese is an Oriental Longhair derived from the Balinese and Oriental Shorthair so conforms to type of those breeds. The ideal cat is svelte and elegant with long tapering lines.
Coat is medium-long, fine and silky in texture, without woolly undercoat, lying mainly flat along the body.
Absence of pointing gene causes coat colour to be comparatively darker than that of Balinese. Eye colour is green.
