Polycoons are bred from fully pedigreed Maine Coons, but have the distinctive additional physical feature of polydactyly (extra toes). History tells us that Polydactyl Coons have been a part of the Maine Coon gene pool since the beginnings of the Maine Coon Breed history.
The Polycoon is a solid, rugged cat with a smooth, shaggy coat which enables it to endure a harsh climate. Breed Standard calls for a well proportioned and balanced appearance with no part of the cat being exaggerated. Quality should never be sacrificed for size.
All Traditional Colours are recognised but no pointed series, chocolate, lilac, cinnamon or fawn are allowable.
